Young boys are fighting each other with loose sticks made of reed (or rice stalks). One can see a huge kite in the form of a fish, a screen with Chôki killing a goblin (also signed by Chikanobu) a suit of armour, a stage with puppets etc etc.

A maid, from a brothel is resting on a pile of straw mats during spring-cleaning, the broom behind her.
Above her the 10th Chapter of the Chushingura, Gihei sitting on the chest of armour and defying the ronin to dislodge him. On the warehouses one can see toshidama seals.

made on request. In 1998 a scroll with 13 shunga scenes was sold at
auction (Christies London), and the signature was: Kochoro Kunisada shunga jusangumi motome ni ojite gisho / Kochoro Kunisada, thirteen scenes of shunga, drawn for fun on special request. (probably as a gift for Danjurô VII) And it was sealed: Hanabusa Ittcho.

8 51 NAGASAKI-E Scroll A handscroll depicting 36 different couples from 36 countries, amongst which we can see Dutchmen, English, Russians, Koreans, Chinese, Tartars, Javanese, Vietnamese, Siamese, Persian, Turkish, Spanish, Canadian, Danish, Armenian, Hungarian, Italian, Portuguese, Oriental countries, African countries, lilliputs, etc.
The scroll is unsigned but the style is very much that of Girin, Jô whose drawings have a nice simple style.
Date: c. 1817.
Size: hight 26.2 cm. Each depiction of a couple c. 20 cm in width.
Restored all through but still a very nice scroll, with vibrant colours.
