KUNISADA, Utagawa (1786 - 1865)
A prepatory drawing on very thin Japanese paper for a scroll Kunisada
made on request. In 1998 a scroll with 13 shunga scenes was sold at auction (Christies London), and the signature was: Kochoro Kunisada shunga jusangumi motome ni ojite gisho / Kochoro Kunisada, thirteen scenes of shunga, drawn for fun on special request. (probably as a gift for Danjurô VII) And it was sealed: Hanabusa Ittcho.

Very nice sumi-e drawing on superthin paper, with soft colours, some folds.
